Friends or Acquaintances can come from anywhere, especially the vast network of the APCC. We can connect with people easily on online avenues rather than in real life as we need to complete dozens of formal documentation to visit another country.
In the current pandemic, the message is very clear for everyone stay home, stay safe. In the position of BCIO Assistant Manager, one of my aims is to work towards rebirth of BC New Zealand as there are many potential members who are interested to contribute for APCC and BCIO. There is a communication gap and loss of contact with the NZ’s JAs. When technology is a staple to our lives, we can always search them on Facebook and connection can be formed. Exactly, I took an action connected with John on Facebook messenger, we had few exchange of messages and got on a quick video call. We shared our sweet APCC experience; I updated him of regular virtual activities conducted by BCIO, Door+ and BCPN. John expressed his interest to participate in BCIO activities to reconnect with his APCCmates. It always fun talking with an APCC associate and we connect so well that we forget from two different lands.
