Hotori-san and her husband came to Fiji in September for a visit and graced me and my family with the opportunity to reconnect with them. They were accompanied by our 2014 chaperon Mr Deepak Datt and his family for a dinner.

The Yamada family was Mr Datt’s host family, but I also had a great bonding with them. They enjoyed our Gujarati cuisine. We had a wonderful evening reminiscing the 2014 Summer Camp and home stay in Fukuoka.

We also exchanged presents. It was a great evening with them. I remember first meeting them together with my own host family when I step foot in Kasuya town. The Yamada family and my host family are good friends thus it didn’t feel much different from meeting my family in Japan. The evening of 4th September was amazing and memorable.
